Excellent review of game types, with a nice selection of games to use as examples.

One area it got me thinking about is that I was interested that there was no discussion of the player, as game systems don't exist in isolation from the player.

I would enjoy a follow up that looks at which players gravitate towards what sorts of games, and are there open and closed players? For example, those who are more comfortable with “the let's just play make believe“ who can roleplay both sides of every encounter, vs those who need an Oracle for everything and are not comfortable roleplaying off themselves and not comfortable ad-libbing. Are there other categories etc.

I really enjoyed reading this. I particularly like the contrasting of the various games, many of which I am unfamiliar. I am fairly new to solo play and this helps me identify game play aspects I like. I like creating artefacts and ordered Spine. The Sticker Game will follow.
